Protect Your smile
The best way to avoid dental health issues is to keep up with preventive care and routine appointments. During your regular six month checkups, Dr. Groth and his team will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums, ensuring that issues are caught and addressed early — before they become bigger problems.
Our team of hygienists are known for their outstanding cleanings with the EMS AIRFLOW® Master, the highest quality and most effective prophylaxis technology on the market. By using top notch technology and always prioritizing prevention, our patients know that they’re getting the best care possible at Groth Dental.
EMS AIRFLOW® Master
Our hygienists provide the highest level of preventive care because they’re armed with the EMS AIRFLOW® Master, the most effect and efficient power scaler available today. Using a combination of air, water, and fine glycine powder, it cleans both above and below your gum line. The procedure is fast, too, lasting only about 5 seconds per tooth. This highly efficient tool ensures a quick and comfortable visit that makes going to the dentist stress-free.
keep decay away
During routine appointments, Dr. Groth may suggest dental sealants to protect your smile from cavities and decay. A dental sealant is a clear, liquid coating that's painted onto the chewing surfaces of hard-to-brush teeth, like molars. Once hardened, the sealants act as a protective layer between teeth and any harmful, decay-causing bacteria.
Sealants are typically given to pediatric patients as children tend to be more prone to cavities, but often have not yet experienced decay. Sealants are also appropriate for adults with no signs of decay who would like to take extra steps to avoid cavities.
Healthy Gums Start Here
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, periodontal disease affects half of American adults. What begins as gingivitis (commonly identified by red and inflamed gums) can progress to gum disease if left untreated. Symptoms of gum disease include bleeding during brushing and flossing, irritated, inflamed gums, and a receding gum line. The final and most serious stage is periodontal disease. At this point, the disease cannot be reversed, only managed. If this condition is not addressed, you are at risk of tooth loss and other health issues including heart attack, stroke and diabetes.
To help you avoid this dental health issue, the team at Groth Dental performs deep cleanings using state-of-the-art EMS hygiene units that remove plaque and bacteria from beneath your gum line. With regular periodontal maintenance cleanings, we can help keep your gum disease under control or possibly reverse your early signs of gingivitis. If you notice any symptoms of gum disease, or if you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, call us today to schedule an appointment with Dr. Groth.
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that has the unique ability to help “remineralize” and “rebuild” tooth enamel. This completely non-invasive and pain-free preventive treatment is used often at Groth Dental as a way to keep our patients cavity-free. Flouride treatments can even reverse tooth decay in its early stages.
The process is simple: one of our hygienists applies a highly concentrated fluoride gel to the teeth for several minutes. The patient spits without rinsing and refrains from drinking for at least 30 minutes after the treatment to allow the fluoride to take effect. Our team provides these treatments as necessary when you come in for your regular checkups, so be sure to see us every 6 months.
care for cancer patients
If you are undergoing chemotherapy, any pre-existing dental health issues may become worse because anti-cancer drugs can destroy healthy cells as well as cancerous ones. This destruction of healthy cells can cause tooth decay, swelling, infection, and bleeding gums. As part of our compassionate care, Groth Dental offers custom fluoride trays to protect your oral health during this difficult time. Call our team to discuss how fluoride trays can protect your mouth during chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
